First Digital Radio Station in Arab Emirates

Reach out to expat Indians in the Gulf States
The world’s first Malayalam-language digital radio station is now broadcasting from United Arab Emirates. Pravasi Bharathi 810 AM is also the first digital radio station in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The station broadcast in analogue mode 0500-0010 and digital 0010-0500 from Al Maqta. Its reach will cover all GCC nations with excellent quality through FM quality in DRM (Digital Radios) and super AM quality in ordinary radios. It will cover 72% Indian diaspora in the Gulf states.

Pravasi Bharathi Broadcasting Corporation has its own studios in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Thiruvananthapura and aims to reach out to millions of listeners, streaming music, discussions, news, current affairs and entertainment. The channel is broadcast under the licence of Abu Dhabi Media and Media Zone Authority, Abu Dhabi. (Arctic Radio Club)

The digital choice reflects the Indian public service venture into powerful DRM30 medium wave transmitters with nationwide coverage in the home land. Also a new Indian produced DRM30 able radio receiver has been introduced on the market. For the digital transition DAB+ is not considered any longer in India.
