DRM Jockeyed Out of Radio Days Conference in Berlin

Radio Days Europe is an annual event for the European radio broadcasters to be held in Berlin March 17-19. This time an interest for digital radio issues was quite anticipated, especially DAB and DRM as well as the proposed switch-off of analogue FM. Now the DRM Consortium has withdrawn its participation and will not even be present for the connecting exhibition.
The reason is not lack of interest but DRM is being tucked away and not even being able to participate in the workshop panel about digital radio Digital Future – where does digital radio stand today?

The Radio Days Europe organisation is run mostly by persons working in the Nordic public service companies in Norway and Sweden. As it stands today the DAB lobby seems to have taken full control of the digital radio issues at Radio Days Europe in Berlin.
